Hey everyone,
I know you're not my doctor, but I am really confused. I have had a diagnosis of ulcerative proctitis for the last 6 years with all of the attendant symptoms. I have always had intermittent abdominal pain sometimes on the left side and sometimes more around my navel. I am currently going through yet another round of diagnostic tests (EGD, flex sig, abdominal CT, blood work, etc.).
Anyway, I have been having excruciating BM's, rectal bleeding, and rectal pain. My new GI highly suspects multiple anal fissures and the anal exam from a few days ago revealed perianal skin tags. I'm still waiting for results from the CT and biopsies, but I'm wondering about the skin tags and fissures. Aren't they supposed to be more indicative of Crohn's? Can people with UC have these problems? Or could my diagnosis actually be something different?
Anybody have this kind of experience?
