GMO Foods?

With the increase of crohn's, I have to wonder if it came around the same time they introduced genetically modified foods into the market?  Apparently we were eating it in the 90's, through frozen french fries and many more foods, but nobody was told about it until many years later.  Now many crops are GM  crops, corn, canola, wheat, animal feed and so on .  Many more people now have IBD and celiac disease or others have gluten sensitivity,  because they can't handle bread and wheat products.  Is it gluten or is it that they have been tampering with our food supply?  GMO products?   What have they done to our wheat?  Our staff of life, our bread?  Even though Europe and other countries are against GMO, it is a very touchy subject that no one wants to address, and the government is not of much help?  Was this subject ever addressed as a possible cause or trigger of crohn's disease?  Who knows, what they are killing us with?

Not sure if GMO wheat is on the market yet? They've been trying to introduce it as well.
What is genetically modified animals besides changing it's DNA? Or a genetically modified carrot or potato?
Scary stuff? It's just not natural. Makes you wonder if you eat enough GMO stuff, if we also become genetically modified?

Yes, IBD may have been around for a long time, yet, I believe that diet can't be ruled out. Over the decades, the way people eat, has been changing, evolving, and a lot of chemicals have been added to our foods. There is a higher incidence of Crohn's in the developed world and also there is evidence showing it is increasing each year, even if more cases are being diagnosed, the sad fact is, something is inflaming peoples guts for them to go and see their doctors.

If President Eisenhower and Pres Kennedy had IBD then we can say our disease is likened to Presidency.
We are a in special class of our own and boy does the term "running for" have meaning,

BRelaxed, thank you, I can see your view as well. You are right that more are being diagnosed nowadays because doctors know what to look for. So we may not have had GMO products years ago, but still, I don't believe tampering with our food in the natural sense, whether through GMO products or the hundreds of chemicals they are adding to everything, these days is helping digestion and health of the body. There's bound to be a break down and disease somewhere. Thousands of years ago, man ate everything raw, or so it is said. Personally, I like my food cooked, yet even cooking is destroying digestive enzymes.

eat2bwell, you are absolutely right on as well. Years ago man wasn't aware of toxins or they couldn't care less. Industries would dump chemicals into the water. As a child I lived in a Pulp and Paper town. The little river running along side of it, had tons of chemicals dumped into it daily.; The water was of various colors when they had the pumps going. . Just on the other side of the road, they made a swimming area for kids, so one can imagine how many chemicals we swallowed? People removed lead and asbestos without protective covering and being aware of what they were inhaling. They were spraying herbicides and pesticides, while people were walking down the streets. It's a combination of everything.
