Hi, folks. I haven't even been on this website for a couple of years, but in the slim chance there are still some of you from then floating around (and even if not), I just thought I'd pop in and say hello.
I'll give a little backstory as a reminder/greeting. I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in June, 2012. Tried all sorts of stuff, such as Pentasa/Lialda, Budesonide, Humira, Cimzia, LDN, etc., and the only one that's done much of anything for me is prednisone. Well, I was on it for so long and at such doses that it made my adrenal glands stop working, which I found out this summer. This summer I also started Remicade, and my last loading dose was August 6. As for how I'm doing now, I guess I'm ok. I've been pretty sick just the last few days with vomiting and pressure and pain. Depression is meh. I'm seeing one of my GIs next week (as of right now I have one back in my hometown and another here where I go to college six hours away). I plan on talking to him about why I've felt so crummy and about if maybe I should try my first post-loading dose of remicade sooner if possible. School just started back up recently, and it hasn't been particularly stressful yet, but right now I can barely get my work done when I spend the night puking up everything from that day. I really hope remi can help me out, but also at the same time I'm not holding out that much hope if I'm being totally honest. And honestly if it doesn't start making things better I'm going to consider taking a leave of absence from school (this is my senior year) to focus on getting my health in better order.
Anyone else on my vibe? I mean, like, anyone else experienced having their adrenal glands completely stop working and if so, any words of wisdom? Could they boot them back up eventually (as my doc claims can be done)? Anyone want to talk about depression (I know, it's its own section and all, but there's overlap)? I dunno, just kind of reaching out to you all, whether we've chatted on here or not previously.
