I got scared when I heard so many people from this site say that Entocort didn't work for their problem because it doesn't reach the sigmoid and that particular drug was designed for crohns disease sufferers. They also said that I should ask for a different medication. I put a call in to my doctor but he was away on holiday. Since then my symptoms have lessened.
Entocort probably reaches most of the colon, tbh, though I don't know about
the rectum - steroid suppositories would be better for that area anyhow. Given the amazingly high number of steroid non-responders on the UC board, I suspect Entocort didn't work for them because they didn't respond to it, not because it didn't reach the left-sided colon.
As for what's next, 6MP or azathioprine most likely.
