Hand fingers hurt. Is this Crohn's related?

My hand fingers started hurting. I waited for a couple of days hoping it would resolve on its own but it didn't. It's now more than a week and the pain is increasing. Should I seek medical help or is it normal?

Weird cause I'm having the same thing. But its all over my body, but what made me go to the doctor was the weird pain in my fingers. Got tested for RA, lupus and all that good stuff and the doctor said its probably crohn's related arthritis. Just saw him this Thursday and he prescribe me methotrexate which I'm scared to take.......... Still debating taking it..............

Hi, I have tendinitis in both my feet but this has been there for over a year and there is no solution for it other than wearing walking shoes and inserting flat foot insoles. My hand fingers is a new issue.
I have been on methotrexate before for almost 5 months and then developed a reaction and had to stop it. However, many people are doing well on it. Why are you afraid?

I hurt all over when I am flaring. My skin hurts to the touch and my knees and feet ache. It is like I get really bad arthritis abruptly. I would still mention it to your doctor but it could definitely be normal.

I have Crohn's related arthritis and it always kicks it into high gear in the Autumn. I recently had to go on a short round of steroids because it hit my TMJ area. I can get pain and swelling in any and every joint You mentioned tendinitis - have any of your antibiotics been in the fluoroquinolone family? There's a correlation with those antibiotics and tendon problems.

Depending on how long ago you stopped the methotrexate, it could be that you're having a flare of arthritis in your joints from coming off of it. I understand fignewton212's fear of it - it can be a bit scary to read about. But I guess that can be said of many medications we take.

Hi, I have Crohn's related arthritis in my feet, knees, thumbs, wrist, lower back. When I get up in the morning I can hardly walk. I was on Day Pro for my arthritis but had to go off of it because it's an nsaid and with nsaids your crohn's can be effected more and my GI took me off of it.

I have been on Pentasa now and don't think it is helping but when I tried to go off of it my arthritis seemed to get worse. Have had crohn's for 52 years now and have had many years on and off of remission but in March of 15 had surgery. I have had 3 resections counting this one. The crohn's is only in my small intestine.


DX Crohn's 1963 Pentasa, multivitamin, vitamind3, dha600mg, cq10 100mg

Dear all, thank you. I have an appointment w the orthopedic in two weeks and see whether my symptoms are Crohn's related as you have mentioned or I do have a predisposition to arthritis as my GI suggested.
