Dental work and steroids

I am currently on 5 mg prednisone (stopping in a week) and 9 mg entocort. I need a root canal and possibly an extraction😳 Is there a stronger risk for infection?

I think there is, but I would imagine it still pretty low. They usually give antibiotics with a root canal. Actually last time I got one, I wasn't on prednisone, and I didn't take the antibiotics and I was fine. If i were on prednisone I would take the antibiotics. I developed sepsis once while on prednisone, and since, I have become very fearful of it happening again.

I'd say there is a slightly higher risk. I've had quite a few teeth pulled and fixed over the last few years with no issues. A lot of the time I couldn't finish the antibiotics (make me so ill), with no infection issues. I know one thing though, these steroids sure ruin your teeth. Had great teeth before them.
