Cold sore

I got a cold sore on Monday. I sometimes get them and have a prescription to take when I first notice them. I've pretty much become a hypochondriac after being diagnosed with crohns and I take Remicade and 6MP and the low possibility of lymphoma freaks me out!! Anyway, I went to the doctor bc my left ear hurt a little too...cold sore is on left side bottom lip. She said there was just a little fluid in my left ear and that my lymph ode on left side was slightly swollen. It has been tender/sore since I first got the cold sore. Anyway, now I'm having a hard time obsessing about lymphoma even tho my doctor said it is swollen from the cold sore. I've read about lymphoma too and it says it is painless. I clearly have a cold sore and she gave me antibiotic for sinus infection, so I just don't know why I do this to myself! It's very frustrating! She knows my fear and specifically said this is why it was slightly swollen.

Think this disease turns most people into hypochondriacs eventually. All I can say is the risk of lymphoma from Remicade is very, very small - whatever increased risk there is arguably comes from having Crohn's itself rather than the drug.

I'm prone to cold sores and had a nasty one myself a few weeks ago (it's all the stress!). Not on any meds currently, but when I was on Remicade I developed a swollen lymph node in my armpit - I was fine. (Well, fine apart from the Crohn's trying to kill me that is.) It's long since gone.
