Ears clogged. Is it a cold or GERD?

Since yesterday night, my ears started to be blocked; there is pressure in my ears and I can hardly hear people around me. I'm having a sore throat too. Today at work, people kept telling me it seems you've caught a cold; your voice is hoarse. I could hardly hear my students let alone people on street. Well, I can't guarantee that's true. I remember my GI once told me that reflux could reach my ears. A sore throat and hoarse voice are too symptoms of GERD. I can't figure it out. On my way home, I grabbed ear drops and a cold med from a pharmacy. The pharmacist tried to convince me to take an antibiotic I always take but I declined her suggestion. I was afraid this might screw up my intestines. I'm really dreading it might turn out to be caused by GERD. I have sinusitis that's caused by GERD and it took my such a long time and tests till ENTs confirmed it to be a by product of my reflux.

Hope you feel better soon too, Lamb61. I'm sitting in the waiting room of the ENT and honestly speaking hope that my ear issue turns out to be caused by my GERD. Yes, this would mean undergoing an endoscopy as both my upper and lower endoscpies are due but I don't want any new gifts.
