Have a fistula

Started to have rectal discharge. So, my GI ordered an MRI pelvis. Got the results. Short tiny low midline intersphincteritic fistula with a 6'oclock opening. Is it now Crohn's? What's next?

You can have a fistula without Crohn's but with all your other symptoms, I strongly believe that it is time that they label it as Crohn's. Biologics are the best for fistulas, and I think it would help you overall. I hope your docs and insurance will approve it now.

Thank you, Gumby. Will see my GI tomorrow. TBH, I'm afraid of any surgical interventions. I read a lot here about setons , plugs and flap surgeries. Have to wait till I see him.

Minnie, here's sending good thoughts your way that you get some hopeful news at the surgeon's. Yes, there are alot of different options and treatments depending on location and severity, definitely one of my least favorite crohns issues.

I hope this leads to a confirmation of a dx for you!
