Oh ouch. Ouch, ouch, ouch. Based on the location, it wouldn't surprise me at all that you're still in a ton of pain. My fistula is at the bottom of the lowest sphincter muscles, and when we did my plug surgery, the pain was horrendous. I'd never hit a 10 on the pain scale before, and that is something I never want to repeat again. I was admitted to the hospital after going home and the pain meds wearing off because it hurt so bad and we couldn't control it. For 3 days, I was on 3mg of IV dilaudid every 2 hours and my pain was still at a 7 for the majority of that. It still hurt for a couple of weeks afterwards. The good news, though, is that now I am completely pain-free! :) Every once in a while I will get a sharp stabbing pain, but that is because the fistula didn't heal and is still just there. Since it's recto-vaginal, sometimes intimacy or a tampon will irritate things, but other than that, I don't even notice it's there.
