Applying SSDI ?

So, I'm seriously contemplating applying for disability if the Entivyo doesn't kick in soon. I haven't been able to work more than a few days in a row since the first of the year. Luckily, I have been able to work from home as needed. But that will end when my job does on June 24.

I know I have to have all my medical ducks in a row and fill out the necessary paperwork, but what else should I expect? I know it takes some months and it's best to have a lawyer. Do you have to already be out of work or can lack of ability to work be reason enough?

On one hand I think this is what I need to do, on the other I feel as though I will be giving in.

I have already begun my disability application. I was planning to go back to work over a year ago since my youngest child started school. But instead I've spent 7 weeks total in the hospital this past year and countless days not feeling well due to crohns. Since the process takes so long if I were you I'd go ahead and submit the application. You won't be giving in...having crohns just sucks and it's hard to hold down a job especially if you can't get a flare up under control.. Sorry to say it so bluntly but it's true. I don't wish crohns on my worst enemy
