Anal fistula plug operation. Please tell me your story!

Hi!
4 days ago I have a plug operation. Someone of you had the operation ? Someone was successful ? What were the days after the surgery ? How long have healed ? Please Tell me your story . I'm afraid that what I read on the internet . So little positive of entries... ;(

I had a plug surgery for a RV fistula almost two years ago. It was not successful, but I had had the seton in for a few years before that, so we weren't very optimistic about it healing. You didn't say if you have Crohn's or not. With Crohn's, my CR surgeon said a plug surgery has about 50/50 success rate.

Yes, I have Crohn's.

The recovery wasn't too bad. But the plugs did not help. And my insurance ended up refusing to pay for the operation. Yay!

I had a plug for fistula few years back - did did not work - got infected, developed abscess, plug removed and drain seton installed. While on IV for infection developed c diff. 5 days in hospital isolation on Flagyl and Vancomycin.
