Singh, Animal Health Division, Central Institute for Research on Goats, Mathura delivered a University Extension Lecture on "Diagnosis and Control of Paratubercular Infection in Human Beings". The lecture was held by the Department of Surgery, J. N. Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University. Prof. Jamal Ahmad, Dean Faculty of Medicine presided over the event and welcomed the speaker.
Dr. Singh emphasized that paratubercular infection by Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis (MAP) was responsible for causing Cron's disease, an important ailment of intestines of the human beings, causing pain in the abdomen, unexplained weight loss, fever and sometimes intestinal obstruction. He said that this disease sometimes becomes very difficult to distinguish from tuberculosis.
Earlier, Prof. Mohammad Aslam, Chairman, Department of Surgery introduced the esteemed speaker.
A large number of faculty members from various departments, Senior and Junior Residents and Interns attended the lecture."

Short and to the point, but this doctor has a ton of MAP studies under his belt. Especially in regards to type of strains and infection rates in livestock etc.
