Malecot drain for abcsess and seton placement for fistulas

Anyone ever had an internal abscesses with a Malecot or mushroom drain And Seton's and still gone swimming in a pool? My surgeon says it's okay. I still wonder. Felt like it may pull water in. Seemed like I had more drainage after. Could be in my head!
