I would ask your preferred pharmacy to look into it for you. I know not every state has or knows of Wegmans, but it happens to be the best chain of grocery stores ever (joking sort of, but not really). I am literally there at least 3 times a week and get all my meds at the pharmacy there. I was also using a specialty pharmacy for my Humira and I found it to be a huge pain in the butt and the pharmacy would just not deliver it sometimes making my dosage late. I mentioned something to the pharmacy manager at Wegmans when I was picking up some other meds and he somehow worked it out with my insurance that they would fill it through their specialty pharmacy AND he managed to lower the copay from $50 to $35. My Humira is ready for me the day after I request a refill and I no longer have to fine unique ways of using those Styrofoam coolers and ice packs.
It really just comes down to money and if your pharmacy is willing to match the price of the specialty pharmacy that you insurance uses, they may agree to let you fill there. Granted this is probably more feasible at a smaller pharmacy like mine than say CVS or Walgreens. I honestly would prefer to give my money to Danny Wegman et al. than some huge chain pharmacy.
