Ah okay. Yeah, that is a lot of Humira :/ I really hope the hyperbaric oxygen works out for you. I've heard of it, but apart from that, know nothing about it: I'll have to google it.

Nah, not yet. Or at least I haven't seen it in my stool. I'm not looking for it as carefully as I was though; I reckon the chances of my retaining it for a week and then passing it are virtually nil. It should start dissolving soon, if it hasn't already - the IBD nurse said it took 10 days.

I liked my doctor's side note when he mentioned the pill cam would not be a good idea for me: something to the effect of well if it did get stuck then we'd know where the problem is.

Thanks, clo >_>. Yeah, I do wish I had argued it more, but I suspect it wouldn't have got me anywhere. It was a woman, and she was perfectly polite and professional but brusque: deffo not the sort to be cracking jokes about drinking wine in the slightest. Or to risk her job. On a semi-related note, I once asked my stoma nurse for some blood test results. She emailed back to say that it wasn't her department which had ordered them, so she would be putting her job on the line if she sent them to me - even though I had requested them. Bureaucracy gone mad, etc. etc.

Nope, not passed the pill :-/ I will have to wait for the x-ray result now. Will give it til next week then chase it up.

It looks like the abdominal x-ray must have been clear. I received a package from the hospital yesterday, which baffled me. For one wild fleeting moment, I wondered if somebody had sent me a present. They had - MoviPrep ¬_¬

Yep, I've been booked in for the real pill cam on the 5th January. The prep instructions are much stricter this time. It's full colonoscopy prep, basically - no eating anything after 12pm the day before, no food or liquids after midnight. It's going to be grim. But the letter actually makes a point of requesting that you follow the instructions carefully, as it's hard to acquire funding for a repeat procedure if the first one fails. So I will.

Yeah, I do. It's indistinguishable from a colonoscopy prep, as far as I can make out. What did you do then, gumby? Just not eat the day before?

I think Moviprep is overkill myself, but I dare not risk a failed procedure :-/

So you're not allowed red Gatorade, jell-o, popsicles, etc. but you're allowed red cranberry juice - makes sense -_-

Apart from the MoviPrep, that actually looks very similar to what I have to do. I do intend on following the instructions to the letter, but I'm not looking forward to not being able to drink anything for at least 12 hours :-/

lol, the difference between English NHS hospitals and American private ones: I got my "gift" in a utilitarian white envelope with absolutely no tissue paper, ribbons, sprays or handwritten cards of any kind <_<. Was the cream accutane by any chance? That's the only one which I have heard of having any association with IBD. And apparently that association is extremely dubious, to put it mildly. Still though, I don't think I would be happy using it myself.

Yeah, you're probably right about the cranberry juice. Funnily enough I bought a couple of cartons of the stuff for Christmas yesterday. Wondering if it's okay to drink during my prep now, but don't think I will take the chance.

@NCOT haha, its not standard in the US either, though I wish it was. If I had received Humira in a similar care package I might have been more positive about those darn pens. It was Acanya cream. when the Derm mentioned if I wanted something to treat the spots I said sure but I don't want to make my other issues worse. she apparently didn't get what I was talking about. When I went to a CCFA panel discussion on crohns a few years ago, there was a mother in the audience that spoke up during the discussion- she lost her son after after he developed severe crohns from taking accutane. So that has kind of stuck with me. The Derm did not know it was a contraindication and told me to ask my GI what he thinks and let her know because she is curious too. I think I've taken up a heap of the GI's time for this year though so I think Ill wait for the new year for these questions. My face will survive.

@Clo yeah, just a little scary! haha, she was really great about it though and said well I will admit I don't know everything, so don't take it if you don't feel comfortable about it.
