Having recurring boils - whom should I see: a surgeon or a dermatologist

Have had these recurring armpit boils for almost a month. I know that applying an antiperspirant initiated it. I brought it up to my GI's attention and he insisted I see a surgeon, actually a breast cancer surgeon, whom he refers me to whenever a lump appears. I argued with him that I should see a dermatologist but he insisted on my seeing the surgeon.

Anyways, I have an appointment with the surgeon next week though I'm not convinced. For me, it's the antiperspirant that is causing these boils so it's the role of the dermatologist to treat them. It seems that as long as I'm on Remicade, whenever a lump appears, m y GI gets worried and sends me to the surgeon.

My GI does the same thing. My Mother had 9 children in her family...either 7 or 8 died from cancer. So every time something strange happens he goes straight to worse case scenario so we don't waste time.

I usually make an appointment with the dermatologist for the day following the oncologist visit so we can all work together and I am covered.

I hate those boils. I get them on my neck under my ears and between my shoulder blades. I use alcohol and hydrogen peroxide to dry them out to get rid of them quicker.
