IBD HELP?

Hello everyone,

I was hoping someone could shed some light for me...
For almost 7 months I have been having symptoms such as blood with pretty much every bowel movement, a large amount of mucus produced with these movements (sometimes just mucus and blood, no stool - sorry for the overshare), very painful cramps in abdomen area, very loose stools for weeks at a time and can easily go to the toilet 6/7/8+ times during the day. This started off gradually back in last august, but since then has become a daily struggle and made life very difficult for me. I've been to the doctors numerous times, samples sent off, and they've not found anything like celiac disease, but I Did have a calprotectin level of 868 (normal level being under 50).

Now, I've been referred for a gastro appointment on the urgent referrals list, but I have a couple of questions for you guys..

Does this calprotectin level mean it's going to be Crohns or Colitis or could it be from something else (no antibiotics or NSAIDs)?
I'm worried if it is, My symptoms will go away by the time I get my endoscopy and then I'll be back to square one, as if I don't have symptoms will they still be able to detect something like that?

I want to be realistic and if it's pretty much going to be one of those diseases I'd like to be prepared to be possibly be told that when I see the consultants.

They've done cultures and looked for infections, they've found none, hence why the endoscopy. Not sure yet, am posting from England and with the current NHS strain it's a fair wait for referrals for Gastro related issues unfortunately I'm hoping so. Just want someone to let me know what's going on so I can move on wit. Everything!
