I totally read the subject as "bleh-itis" and I thought, "Bleh is exactly how I feel with Crohn's!!" :D
So true >_>.
I've not had a formal diagnosis as such, but the optician who performed my last eye test and examined my eyes said something about
it looking sore underneath the eyelid and there being a lot of mucus there. She recommended a certain brand of eyelid wipes, which I bought - and they deffo do help. Stopped using them a while ago, but I might start again. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. She also recommended I apply a hot flannel to the eye first before using the wipe.
I've had problems with my eyes for years, particularly the right one. I used to suffer from a terribly gritty feeling in the corner, like an eyelash had got stuck. I would spend ages trying to remove the eyelashes (and sometimes quite a few would come out; other times none at all), which almost certainly made the problem worse.
I don't know if it's connected, but years later I got uveitis. The eye specialist I saw at the hospital told me that it could be related to the Crohn's.
I've just read the blepharitis entry on Wiki and am even more convinced that's what I've had, since I have, or have had, most of the symptoms that are listed:
/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BlepharitisIt can definitely heal, but like any other disorder it can also flare up again.
