Hey NCOT, how have you found the Entyvio? Has it helped?
Not as much as I would have liked :-/
It apparently brought down my calprotectin from nearly 1900 to under 600, so there's that. But in terms of symptoms, it's almost impossible to tell. I don't have a colon so I can only really compare myself to the j-pouchers, because they don't have colons either: even in the best case scenario we are never going to have normal stools. But the j-pouchers on this site who have had a good outcome appear to be doing a lot better than me!
I'm just dealing with annoying proctitis-ey symptoms really: passing little, often acid-ey, bits a time. Occasional passing of blood. The other main symptom is LRQ pain. I have noticed my stool is much more voluminous and less splattery after a large bowl of oatmeal (with oats soaked the night before), but insoluble fibre slays my stomach if I eat too much of that. I really ought to look into taking a soluble fibre supplement, cos at some point I'm going to want a change from oatmeal for lunch.
Sorry, I kind of went on. I hope you will be okay until your Mayo appointment.
