I was the same way as you. I had always been healthy, never missed a day of school in my life. Then literally overnight I was suddenly pooping blood over 20 times a day with awful stomach cramps. My family and friends were shocked, too - I had always been the healthy one!
So it may or may not be Crohn's. The fact that there's an abscess is a strong indication of Crohn's, but that's really not guaranteed. And some people don't ever have symptoms until there's suddenly something awful, like sepsis or a bowel obstruction.
But the good news is that if it is Crohn's, there are SO many ways to treat it. Sure, it will never go away, but you can get good medications that can get you into remission and help you lead a relatively normal life. I promise.
I got diagnosed my first week of teaching middle school math after graduating from college. I taught for a few years, and now I'm married with two kids. All with severe Crohn's. And since you've had so few symptoms, it's like gypsy said - a blessing to find out sooner rather than later.
But definitely go find a GI doctor and get a colonoscopy done. That is the big way to diagnosis Crohn's, The scans can help, but they will just tell you if there's inflammation, abscess, etc. The biopsies from a colonoscopy will be useful in actually diagnosing. And you actually may be able to get into a GI quickly. It just depends on where you live, what your health insurance is like, and how many GI doctors are around.
