I had a seton placement no surgery in my rectal area and through to vaginal fistulas outside of vagina.
My rectal area feels like it is being closed and a big Rock is sitting in there. I have tried everything prunes, Epsom salt baths, lemon water, lemons with gingerale and greasy foods.
I can't get anything to help. Doctors office included. I told my job I could return Monday. Now I have to call and tell them I can't. I am lucky to be walking this hurts so much!
I had some bms but it's all loose like pudding or applesauce. And the rectal pressure just comes back. I have a heating pad on my butt. Trying everything
Need relief!

If you're having BMs that are loose, then the pressure is not from being constipated. So hold off of the prunes, etc! It is most likely swelling around the seton surgery site. I've had a RV fistula for over 5 years now, had two setons in it (at two different times). It should get better as you heal.

Scifigal2k, just wanted to let you know that I tried taking Tylenol to relieve pain for awhile. Since I worry about
taking too much Tylenol and it's effects on my Crohn's. But, I thought about
it and realized that my fistulas are not a crohns flare so I should be able to take it.
As far as the prunes and lemon juice with gingerale I spaced this out. Eating three prunes at a time and drinking during the time I was awake. I also, made sure I ate after taking miralax and colace in the morning and evening. This seemed to help as I had more formed stool and the pressure feeling wasn't as bad. I thank you for your reply and hope that you are having a great day. I slepted most of my day away as my pain seems to be more prevalent at night time. Hence why I am up now at 330am. Hoping to get some sleep as I will be working at 10am.

Tylenol is actually pretty fine with Crohn's. It's the NSAIDs like Ibuprofen, advil, etc. that you need to avoid. Sounds like it's been pretty rough.
I wonder if an ice pack would help provide some relief?

I was diagnosed of anal fistula several years ago and for some reasons I couldn't have that sorted until now. I am scheduled for fistulotomy/seton placement tomorrow June 6. The CRS isn't sure yet of the exact procedure between the two until further examination. He already told me the decision on which procedure will be informed by the outcome of the further examination. I'm terribly scared.
