I am still relatively new to Crohns so I am trying to gain a better understanding of certain things... I have been doing so much better (it feels almost like I don't have a disease a lot of the time). I even just had a colonoscopy and my terminal ileum looks normal now. I had doctors at the ER last year tell me the rest of my intestines looked good too (I have Crohns in the small intestine). The Remicade seems to be doing its job.
However, when I get very stressed or eat the wrong thing, I am still experiencing what feels like a flare (pain, difficulty eating anything, nausea, gas, diarrhea, fever, bloating) . My GI said I probably have IBS too but that it doesn't cause a fever. So how can I have these flares without anything looking crazy inside? Does that mean that some kind of permanent damage was done on a microscopic level? I am still lactose intolerant and cant eat things like popcorn, nuts, and a lot of raw veggies. No one has said I have strictures yet my GI told me to avoid popcorn because it can cause obstructions.
