I have chrons disease and I'm supposed to start entyvio . I want to know if entyvio is stronger than Remicade. I also want to know if there are any side effects.

I've read on the internet that you can have hairlloss nausea and weight loss as side effects is this true? Also is it sronger than Remicade?

Hi Mirna saw your post & wanted to say hello. If you will go to Drugs.com you can read the list of potential side of Entyvio. Keep in mind you may not have any side effects at all. Please keep in mind when these medications are being tested, if a patient has any type of a reaction it gets reported. I was on Remicade for 3 1/2 yrs & did very well. I had no problems with it & was thankful that it helped me so much.

No, Entyvio isn't any stronger than Remicade. It acts more locally on the gut than Remicade does, so in theory it should have fewer side-effects. Whether it actually does or not, I'm not sure.

Going from your poll, no, Entyvio isn't a chemotherapy drug. 6MP, azathioprine and methotrexate are old chemotherapy drugs that are prescribed at lower doses for IBD - you can still get hair loss and nausea on them (particularly methotrexate), but such side-effects tend to be temporary and wear off once the body adjusts.
