Hi Gypsyfp,
Please don't blame yourself for not knowing when the hospital is responsible for not better communicating with you. I had mine placed in March and they too didn't give me a list until after the surgery. I had been draining for ages so I already had pads etc.
You'll only need stool softeners, fibre etc if you become constipated, so don't rush out to buy a bunch of products you might not need. Right now you're still recovering from surgery so cut yourself a break....put your feet up and watch Scandal
I'd suggest a donut or foam to sit on, take a few sitz baths and rest.
Your reaction to anesthetic isn't unusual. I've always vomited after. Just be mindful of your fever and pain levels. If you suspect something is wrong go to ER.
Wear pads and change often. I used the ABD pads over top of a sanitary pad when drainage was heavy. Use a spray bottle to clean the area if you can't stand to do another sitz bath.
But seriously, don't blame yourself or go rushing out.....the only thing you need right now are pads and rest
Get better!
