Got an iron transfusion for the 13th November, folks. It was thankfully easy. The IBD nurse asked for a copy of my blood test results, which I emailed to her - got the call back from the gastro secretary just now. Hopefully it will give me a bit more energy, 'cos I am braindead... >.>
@mirowpl - Yes, that's not a massive improvement - hopefully the second infusion will make more of a difference. My transferrin saturation is apparently 6%, but it's not one of the results which is marked with an asterisk, so I skimmed over that one. But according to your GI it should be at least 20%. Hmm...
Good luck with your colonoscopy as well. I've got a pelvic MRI scan this evening (it's at 6:30pm. Never had a test that late before). I should be moving onto Stelara hopefully.
@Plucky - I had a blood transfusion for anaemia once, but I was an inpatient at the time, so it wasn't really a bother. I have to say, it did really put the colour back in my cheeks and I felt a lot better afterwards.
I googled EZFE; it doesn't seem to be available in the UK.
Thanks!
Edit: Well, this is cheery. I'm apparently at a 45% higher risk of death.
