Successful Gallbladder Removal After Resection

I have to have my gallbladder removed next week. I had several inches of my colon and small intestine removed 8 years ago (Crohn’s related of course). The surgeon will try to remove my gallbladder laparoscopically. However, he did mention that if I have too much scar tissue from the resection, he will have to do an open surgery.

I’m worried about this. I am hoping for laparoscopic surgery because I have 3 young children to care for.

Has anyone had a successful laparoscopic gallbladder removal after having a resection? I need some positive vibes!

Posting an update in case anyone searches the forums for the question that I posted.

Had a successful laparoscopic gallbladder removal. There was scar tissue from my resection, so surgeon had to make navel hole larger than normal. However, the surgery went well, and recovery was as expected.

That is great! I am really sorry I didn't know much about this. I had my gall bladder removed several years ago when I had pancreatitis caused by Imuran, but I didn't have a resection. I will say that having the gall bladder removed hasn't caused any issues really. I think I have some small adhesions behind the laparoscopy scars because they will ache on occasion, but that's it.
