Tonight I suddenly developed small and very painful perianal lump. I spent a LOT of time cleaning my entire house, so I'm hoping that I just had some chafing or ingrown hair or something as I walked around the house. But a heating pad eases it until I leave the heat (like to the bathroom) and it feels so much worse.

I've had chills and fatigue this week, but my kids had had fevers with colds and I was travelling last weekend, so it doesn't mean much. I know I just have to kind of wait and see what it's like tomorrow morning and stuff, but I'm kind of panicking.

Try hard not to freak. For me, it seems to increase my issues when I freak...but it is so hard not to. I have had a large bump suddenly appear over a weekend, get a head on it and then find out it was an ingrown hair...another time it was from my underwear or jeans rubbing on an area plus it was in a place where the clothes got tight....so I dunno. I do know that when I have gotten a "cold" the area where I had my original abscess and my RVF and uveitis go crazy. (Enough to use heating pads and start my eye drops)....so I wonder if that could be happening?

Good morning SFG! How does the lump feel this morning. Sure hope its nothing more than an infected hair!

Thanks guys! It has gone down a lot, still tender when I walk, but I think it was just chafing/ingrown hair. Whew!

my crohns was diagnosed after a hard lump in that area. it burst and was a fistula... hope yours is not.
