anxiety about crohns coming back - could my small intestine suddenly burst like colon did

I have been feeling anxious about what will happen if crohns comes back again, last time i got sick suddenly i think because of a stomach bug brought it on,, as partner had a stomach bug too at the time, an even though they tried medication it was too late an my colon ruptured, my worry is of the same thing happening out the blue again ,, could the small intestine get bad very quickly and suddenly and burst ? Have read small intestines can get some perforations,, I am worrying because I worry i have crohns in my small intestine even though in jan blood tests an poo sample test came back fine and my doctor said it wasnt in my small intestine but i know it can come back there even though my doc was saying it wont , he didnt put me on medication for preventions,, i have been feeling sick some days just like before when i still had my colon and having mild pain exactly the same as before,,, but now my colon is gone how could it be the same pain as before,, my thought is it was pain in the small intestine all along, although i am confused and dont know,, waiting for next appointment with gastro doc is taking awhile to come through, just feeling scared an down not knowing if ill have to go throughanother emergency surgery one day if the crohns hits me suddenly again

LMM, you know we just can't predict what will or will not happen. One thing I have learned about IBD, you simply cannot predict it. I think when something happens like what you went through, it's normal to have some fear. However, don't let that fear keep you from doing things that you enjoy. The "what if's" will rob you of too many things in life.

I remember all too well what happened with me after my resection. I had a complete blockage & abscess. Fortunately, the abscess had sealed itself off, otherwise it would have perforated. I had a real hard time coming to terms with everything. The surgeon took my appendix out first, he thought it was my appendix, lol. This happened in Mexico, there was a huge language barrier. Thank goodness he was smart enough to open me up lower & found the problem. Six weeks prior to this mess, I had just had my gallbladder taken out. The crohns stuff happened on vacation. My brain went into overdrive with all sorts of fears.

If you can't get a handle on the anxiety do not be afraid to get some help. Take care.
