Requesting change to job schedule

Has anyone ever requested they be allowed to change a work schedule to work from home? I've been working MWF at home since I came back from my surgery. I still don't have much energy and get worn out easily. So I formally asked yesterday to make it permanent. My supervisor won't give me an answer until next week.

I thought I read one time that working remotely wasn't an official accommodation under the ADA. Does anyone know?

Lamb, I looked in the archives here & didn't find anything that would shed some light on your situation. The only thing I am familiar with is the accommodations in the work place only, not working from home. Maybe you can go to the ADA website & see if it's listed there. If nothing else perhaps there is a phone number listed that you can call.

Let us know what you find out.

Lamb, you are correct, working at home under ADA is not required by an employer. I did a google search on "does having to work from home fall under the ADA guidelines". It took me straight to their website. You may want to do this & read up on it.
