Failed Colonoscopy

So I had a colonoscopy here recently, and the doctor could not complete the whole exam because my colon was too inflamed to continue. Has this ever happened to anyone else? I am on a low fiber diet and I can't eat for 3 whole days before my next exam, which is next week. My doctor also found polyps, which is concerning since I am only 18. Will Crohn's cause you to develop polyps? What can I do to keep the inflammation down so I dont fail again? They confirmed I have Crohn's, but I can't start meds until I get through this colonoscopy.

Aw kitten, sorry you have to go through another scope so soon. I've never had this happen but I would think that if they can't get through on the next one your dr. would have to start you on meds to get the inflammation down. I'm not sure why he thinks not eating for 3 days will help, but I guess it might. As for the polyps, I don't know. I've never had polyps, but have had plenty of biopsies over the years.

I hope they get through the whole colon next time. Keep us updated.

Kitten, sorry to read about the scope problem. Perhaps your dr meant to stay on clear liquids those days? Polyps are usually benign so try not to stress out that. Good luck with your next scope.
