4-6 weeks of body malfunctioning!

I’m 62 y/o F with Crohn’s for 34 years . After going on disability ins refused to help pay for remicade. Have been pretty good for 2 years until about a month ago . I am hoping my questions can be answered by someone who may have experienced them.

Diseases include CD, Cirrossis of the liver ( Diagnosed during gall bladder surgery 6 years ago ) , fibromyalgia, restless leg syndrome ...

A month ago I was in a fibro flare and saw my rhumy doc who put me on cymbalta (again) - watching labs because it’s bad for liver ( who hoo!)

At the same time I had a sore on my tongue , an upper lip that was extremely chapped (weird) and a sore throat that turned into a really bad cold, flu, virus ?? For 2 weeks !

The cold left but the fatigue didn’t ...then I found this quarter size boil on my tummy ...

I searched it and learned it could be serious and needed hot compresses , bacitracin and bandaging ...it finally broke about a day ago and bled ...still bleeding a small amount and may possibly be spreading because I see red streaks across my stomach .

Okay , almost done ...during most of this time I began a CD flare and diarrhea increased to 10-15 x a day , I called my gastro doc and he sent me for a C-diff test Monday - Monday night on my lab portal it said negative ( I think) to this day I have yet to hear from my gastro. I left a message at 8 am today to ask what to do since I haven’t slept for 2 nights because now diarrhea is up to 15-20 times a day. Can’t eat or drink without running to the bathroom and many times not making it 😪.

Now I wait to hear from my primary care - I left a message to ask if there was a blood test to see if I had an infection in my body causing all this ( maybe from the boil ?)

Oh wait , did I mention that I am having really bad breast pain too ...what the heck is this !! ?
I’m so tired and upset too ...

Susie really ? It’s that serious ? I called my pcp this morning about getting a blood test to see if there is infection in my body - not only do I NOT see him until next Friday , but I haven’t gotten a return call from them yet today . How do I know if waiting until next Friday is not wise ?

I always feel like going somewhere is a burden to “them” ...silly , I know

If you are denied remicade, there are other potent medicines that can help reduce inflammation. You need to see a GI doctor as soon as possible.

Have you tried Medicaid, Medicare, or other insurance options? I can see your pain. It can be tough without insurance or financial resources to back you up. But at 62, you should have Medicare.
