Had a colonoscopy two days ago to see if there is mucosal healing or not. Drinking the prep gallons was not easy this time. 4 or 5 hours before the exam, I started to have severe sinusitis headache and nausea. These were side effects of the prep. So, I texted my GI and he ordered I take 2 injections: one painkiller and the other one was Zofran. The scope went on well and when I spoke to my GI, he said it looked fine but he has taken a lot of biopsies to confirm mucosal healing. He said I have to take my usual meds until the results of the biopsies are out.
However, since I've had the scope, I have constant cramps in the umbilical area. I took my normal antispasmodics but nothing works. The problem is that my GI flew abroad yesterday. I also caught a cold and have slight fever. I take paracetamol. Are these cramps normal? More than 30 hours have passed since I have had the scope. They are not that severe but I have never had them before.
