I've become hugely more intolerant to heat over the last decade. (Light and sound too, but that's another story.) I just wilt in hot weather - I can't cool down, no matter what I do. And during the night I often wake up covered in sweat. My room isn't hot and I only have a thin duvet. Suspect it's autoimmune or hormonal nonsense. Not looking forward to reaching the menopause, that's for sure.
But that said, I find a hot water bottle placed on my stomach pretty soothing when I have abdominal discomfort/pain.
As for the cooking, sounds like it's standing up and moving about which triggers the pain. If I cook anything, it is a certainty I will get an urge to go to the toilet at the worst possible moment.
