Last March, I underwent an MRI which showed that the perianal fistula healed. This was followed by a colonoscopy where biopsies were taken and they showed some form of clinical remission. Hence, Remicade infusions were pushed to be taken every 8 weeks instead of every 4 weeks. I also started tapering budesonide more (now in 5 mg) and my GI said last visit that I have to come off of it. I even started to introduce new food or actually forbidden food that I haven't tasted for years. Things went on well and I had no issues. However, two days ago, I started to have severe umbilical pain and RLQ pain. Soon diarrhea ensued and I'm now very cautious with my food and I take celebrex 400 mg to relieve pain. Is this the end of my remission or is there something I can do? My next infusion is in two weeks and I'm dreading the idea that my GI might tell me to up the dose of budesonide again.
