High cholesterol is generally related to three factors: Genes, diet, exercise. You can't control genes. You can control diet, but with Crohn's that's often difficult to do. And you can control exercise, but that too can be difficult with Crohn's.
Can you not handle any kinds of fiber? What about soluble fiber? Oatmeal? Bananas? Avocados? Nut butters? Applesauce? Vegetables cooked until they're practically mush?
People with IBD are at higher risk of heart attack and strokes, so high cholesterol along with IBD needs to be taken seriously. Have you seen a cardiologist, or just your primary care doctor, for your high cholesterol? Cardiologists *very* often put IBD patients on statins, and that's even more true if the IBD patient has high cholesterol.
So do what you can about diet & exercise, but also see a cardiologist and talk about starting a statin.
