I posted earlier that my B12 levels were above 5000. Saw my GI yesterday and he ordered 4 tests for liver functions. I know that liver problems are one of the complications of Crohn's. Did anyone suffer from this and how was it treated?
More than 13 years ago, a GI mentioned that I have a lot of gallstones whoch I did not give any attention to esp that I am not having any symptoms. This was mentioned again by another doctor last year but again I did not bring it to my current GI's attention.

Not an expert here, but I do know that having gallstones can certainly raise liver enzymes. Not sure if the effects could be present when having symptoms or symptom free. Hopefully nothing to worry about. Sometimes gallstones aren't present, but something they call sludge. More of a paste. Could have the same effect without as much pain and discomfort.

Hopefully it is what you mentioned 73monte. I don't feel I'm up psychologically to any new Crohn's gifts. I want everything that I've got + my perianal fistula and that's enough. Nothing more.

Hia,

Bit random, but have your GP check your 'Alpha 1 Antitrypsin' levels. My liver enzymes were raised three times and then they tested me. Turns out I'm slightly deficient in Alpha. Alpha is made in the liver and is released into the blood to protect the lungs....if you are really deficient it causes major lung issues. It is not uncommon for Alphas to have pancreatitis and gallstones issues too. It doesn't directly cause problems with stomachs etc. but people do seem to have issues. Have you been checked for Fatty Liver disease? This is very common in Crohns patients also.
