CT scan found nodule in my lung

Had a CT scan of my bowels and while they showed that my CD is inactive, a nodule was found on the lower left lobe of my lungs. Now the testing to find out what it is and if I need to be concerned.

Randy sure hope everything turns out ok. You know someone else recently said they found something similar on their CT scan. Sorry can't remember who, but I know it was very recently. Will definetly keep you in my prayers.

Hi Randy. I had a similar thing this winter. Mine is on the top of my left lung. I do my follow up 6 month CT this month. I've been told that as long as there are no changes between my CTs there is nothing to worry about. No change between the first two for me, crossing my fingers on this next one. I hope your's turns out as well. Just remember that your CD was actually good for catching this thing early.

nanners, that was me the other randy... Randy, i have th same thing now since may. nothing in march or april then in may about a dozen on the right lung and a few on the left. 6 weeks later a recheck showed no change, had a bronchoscopy, (never again) and no bad news from that. do my recheck in early oct. try not to worry. i just made myself sick .... randynoguts

Hey CheerDad...sorry you have another thing to deal with! I am hoping things go easy for you. If it helps, I review medical conditions for future risk as my occupation. This is one condition that does not make me concerned when I see it. If for nothing else, I hope that Randy's words to you can help ease your mind. You don't need the stress. Take care and keep your focus positive.

They found one on my lung during a CT scan also and have just been watching it. I get a new scan every 6 months, it's been going on for almost 2 years, and no changes thankfully.

Wow this is sounding more common than I thought.

Judyk89- how long do they plan to mintor you? I do my 6 month soon but I really don't like the idea of lots more CTs (although I like the reassurance that nothing has changed). I get enough radiation with the CD. I will have to ask about this at my next appointment.

Hi Randy,

I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I have also just posted recently that when I had a CT of abdomen several spots showed up on the RLL. Freaked me out!! Went and had a specific chest CT doc called and stated it was infection or even allergies but nothing to be concerned about. I'll be hoping the same for you. After reading this post it does seem a lot more common than I would have thought. Wishing you the best, keep us posted.

Could it be a bleb? Unless they rupture & cause a collapse ( mine did back in '82) its not cause for concern. I just read a book on doctors & how they think. Interestingly, there was a statement that CT scans can turn a lot of stuff up that looks abnormal, but is usually mild. Hope so.

I'm not sure now that I'm post surgery, and my crohn's isn't active. Up until now it was all part of my CD workups anyway. I'll have to talk to my GP and see how she wants to proceed.

Had a CT Scan of my lungs friday. Will know more this week but I have a scope on Wednesday.
