Just curious...I think pretty much most all of us suffer from rectal bleeding constantly..maybe Im wrong.
So what constitutes Doc visit time for a CD patient if bleeding is a normal thing? I know how a little blood can look like a lot.
But how about
when the blood is dark in color and not bright red? anybody know the rules on rectal bleeding?

If it is darker then it is from higher up on the GI tract. If this is a new symptom then probably need to talk with your doc.

Yeah, darker colors call for a little more concern. I commonly spot my shorts light red or pink. I consider that normal for me & not alarming. If I see very dark red, purple, or black I start worrying..

I've found it quite the myth that if it's light red or bright red that it's okay and not dangerous. When I had my GI bleed my blood was bright red, and was coming from way up in my TI. Why wasn't it dark? Because it was flowing so fast out of me that it didn't have time to turn dark!
Personally I get alarmed if the bleeding is heavy and/or does not stop. Color, while it can be a clue, isn't something to count on.
I also don't think it's normal to bleed constantly, and I would also speak to my doctor if it was happening all the time. Even a small amount of blood loss over time can lead to anemia. Bleeding is nothing to fool around with IMO.

thx to all of you
if I may ask another question..have you ever known yourself or someone else to lose blood rectally and it not show in the vitals.. (bp and heartrate)
my heartrate has been quite high but my vitals are normal...(111 over 68 normally) (heartrate around 104) so I have thought I am just fine!

yes I do that. But I think it is something you need to chat with your GI about
