 Hey, my names Jimmy, 30 and living and learning in Essex, England. Got CD, i've had two right hemi - colectomies, ive had the bag and every single intimate procedure you can name. But for the love of God, where did this flatulance come from! I deal with the breakneck dashes to the loo and all that goes with it. But since i had my reversal last year, man , the smell is BAAAADDDD! I dont think i can stress just how bad. Is this normal? Is there something i can do? Are there fart pants i can buy? Cause i swear im not gonna be able to keep a lady in my bed! nono

I have yet to see or hear of a reliable remedy for gas. It sort of comes with the territory with Crohn's. Maybe buy your girlfriend a gas mask?

That sounds a good idea, gonna have to look for where i can find all the stinky tooters that live round my part of the world. She'd have to go some to out-do me tho. And I find that sugar Massively increases the volume, i've had people in tears listening to one of my ten second parps ( though i've never tried to light one)

welcome to you and your raging hormones, LOL , perhaps the gas can be controlled better by looking at what your consuming, as certain foods will make the problem worse, also I'd recomend taking a Probiotic, I take one by Natures Way that has Primadophilus Reuteri, it must be kept in the fridge, its made in Canada, but I can purchase it through the health food shops here in NZ. Give it a try it certainly made a difference for me.

hi Jimmy Maybe cut back on the sugar, do you drink? That might cause it, Welcome to HW we need all the Cder's we can get , not sure about the pants but had a good laugh and I know it can be a problem at times one cain't hold it forever for fear of blowing up.lol gail

from home. How's the weather, I hope it's stopped raining. As far as the flatulence goes, I wish I could help, but I'm
afraid I suffer badly too. If you find a cure, bottle it, it would be worth a fortune.............

I would cut back on gas-producing foods and give Gas-X a try. Your friends will thank you, even though it sounds like they find your flatulence quite entertaining. Lighting a match would probably make them cheer.

Heh - yeah, I've peeled some paint in my time, too. Sorbitol sweetened popsicles nearly put me in the hospital once. Then I took antibiotics that made me completely unable to produce gas for a while. GI thinks I killed off my gas-producing bacteria. I wouldn't recommend doing that, though, as that's when Crohn's symptoms appeared.

Anyway, along the lines of Bean-O you might try a good digestive enzyme. I use a product from Kirkman that includes many different kinds of enzymes. So whatever I eat, if I pop a few of the enzyme capsules, I can be relatively sure it will go down well. I'm also on a special diet that excludes all grains and milk. That helps a bunch.

i have made my dog run! peeled paint, curled nosehairs, had people stop by thinking i had a corpse flower, and when i was in the service had my buddies don their gas masks! ,, look for a lady who has had her faced smashed in an accident, they tend to lose their sense of smell with smashed sinuses.
