Not to sound like a proud mom or anything but when my daughter was first dx'd she had growth failure. They tried to put her on Pred but the doctor had a very hard time weaning her. She kept flaring. She desperately needed the extra calories because she just couldn't absorb anything. He decided to do nightly feeding and she was willing to try anything because she was so tired of being only 4ft 8in and in high school. So I first went to the hospital and was told what to expect and was given a video and the tubing to bring home for her to see and feel. She was suppose to go to the hospital the next day and talk with the nurses. She was the first patient to do it at home instead of in the hospital. Insurance issue I think I heard. Anyway I went home and put in the tape and we watched it. I then went into the kitchen for a minute, came out and she had already dropped the tube all by herself. I was amazed. The nurses the next day were amazed. Michelle had no problem dropping the tube and she got nightly feedings for about
4 months and was so happy when she finally hit 5 ft. That's all she wanted. Just to be taller.
Now, you have to understand, this is the girl that can't stand to have a shot in her arm to this day. She has 3 children but had to have an drugged from the waist down. But, boy she can drop the ng tube like nobodies business.
