Last week I saw my Rheumy and was diagnosed with Inflammatory Arthritis. I am supposed to start Methotrexate shots this Friday and started taking 1 mg Folic Acid because you have to take it while on the MTX. I started it last Friday. Any kind of vitamins upset my stomach so I started taking it at night in the hopes this would help me avoid getting sick. All of the sudden on Sunday about
4 pm my stomach started getting really upset. I worked with the upset stomach both Monday and Tuesday and tried to get by each day taking Zofran. This morning I woke up and my stomach was really nauseous again so I had to call in to work. Took my meds and went back to sleep, (one of them being my Zofran) feel a little better now. My belly has been doing great so I know it has to be the Folic Acid. Thats the only change I have made med wise or diet wise. So tonight I am not going to take the Folic Acid and see if I feel better. If I feel better tomorrow then I am going to have to call the Rheumy and tell her I can't take the Methotrexate as I can't tolerate the Folic Acid.
She talked about Humira too. Can anyone tell me if you have to take Folic Acid with the Humira too? That might be another option for me, I sure hope so the joint pain has been pretty bad. I might try the Tylenol Arthritis if I can't get the Humira. But Tylenol usually does nothing for me. If anyone can tell me if I have to do the Folic Acid with Humira too, I would appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks for your replies.
God Bless,
