I came down with what I guess is a cold -sore throat, stuffy nose and sinuses, etc. My husband had it first. Then I woke up yesterday with every inch of my body screaming with spasming muscles and arthritis on top of the viral symptoms. The thing is, this has been happening every year at the end of summer since 2003 when I came out of a surgical remission.

Does anyone else get worse in the autumn? It really stays with me through the winter and spring, with only summer being a bit better. I so thought Asacol was causing these symptoms since it cleared up somewhat when I stopped taking it back in the spring, but alas, it seems that I may have been wrong.

I think it was a Peterbilt...

You are not alone that's for sure.I have brohnist(sp)and it never fails come fall and winter it acts up and I will suffer with untill spring and summer time.With our ammune system fails us it makes it so much harder to get over>

Thanks for the replies. My daughter goes to see a pulmonologist tomorrow at UAMS. She's been sick this whole year, and just about entirely the past four years. She's had breathing problems since infancy, but this past year has really been wearing on her. I'll be going with her, which is a 90 mile drive, so I hope I'm not contagious since we'll be confined. The last thing she needs is a cold. She's the main reason I'm stressed. I can handle myself being sick much better than my family.

I know something is going on with her besides asthma because she has joint problems. I've begged her to get tested for RA, though I'm losing faith in the ANA testing. I've tested positive on the ANA test three times, but negative on the RA and lupus subtests. I'm assuming that the positive ANA is from the active CD, but not one doctor has affirmed this. My rheumatologist said it's just a false positive, but if that's the case the ANA isn't very reliable if I have 3 out of 3 false positives. Doesn't make sense. Sorry to ramble.
