talking about surgery...

I had a hysterectomy in 2004 due to Endometriosis. Sometimes the pain was some bad a few weeks before my period it was hard to tell if it was the Crohn's or the Endo. Nothing helped the cramps either. I also had more diarrhea too and bloating. I had a mass in my abdominal area which I guess was from the Endo. They removed a lot of scar tissue while they were in there too. I have felt better since except for one hospitalization since then due to an intestinal obstruction. My period was lasting 10 days and the pain would start a fews before the period. I was losing lots of blood and got severely anemic also. It did make a difference in my overall health I think too because I used to dread each month having 2 weeks of pain and then an extra long period on top of it. The only downside is I am now on an Estrogen patch due to both of my ovaries having to be removed because of major scarring from cysts and the Endo. I hope this helps.
