Could Adhesions Cause pain after eating?

I may be overanalyzing myself here and should try not too. I have had lots of abdominal surgery and had quite a bit of scar tissue removed in 2004 during a hysterectomy. I was just wondering if adhesions could cause cramping and similar pain after eating that an obstruction does? I feel like I have an obstruction but the cat scan didn't show one last night. I think I will go back to liquids til I see my Gi tomorrow. I took 2 percocet and I hope I can sleep soon.

Adhesions can cause a lot of pain and can sometimes be the cause of partial blockages. If an adhesion sticks to a loop of bowel in several places, the bowel can get kinked and twisted. It can sometimes be hard to pick up on a CT scan but a skilled radiologist can often detect it on a simple abdomenal series by the way the loops of bowel change their lie between the prone and standing views.
