Whats your sed rate?

I had my usual blood test run just lately and it shows my sed rate is at 30. I know it is high because I have a lot of inflammation due to the crohns and psoriatic arthritis. I got it tested last Oct and it was 25, so that means my inflammation is getting worse.

What is your sed rate? Just curious! Does anyone know what a normal sed rate is?

SED normal range = 0-20

Mine have ranged from 23 to 65 during a flare.

In August I had a test to see what my sed rate was and it was 29. The doctor said that is normal for my age. The scale is usually 0-20 for women and I think a little higher for me. A sed rate of 30 really is only slightly high for you.

Been on Entocort and Asacol for a few months now and my sed rate is still 52, but my doctor told me it should be about 20.

My doctor says he never pays attention to the sed rate. Said it wasn't a good measure. But I know my daughter's Pediatric GI did. Who knows.

Sed rate, by itself, is not a reliable indicator of Crohn's activity. It is only one of many indicators that should be considered (Sed rate, CRP, symptoms, endoscopy results, etc). For some people, sed rate stays normal even with severe Crohn's.

83 as of today, one of my doctors said there are many factors to look at with this but normal is 1-20, but if there is something suspious going on anything over the patient age is of a concern.

Mine will go into the 60's in a flare as well ...normally at about 25 ......
