I feel like I am posting too much, so if someone answers this question, I'll stop :)
Since this disease started, I have had this strange abdominal pain that is probably my most annoying and persistant symptom. It is the first to come during a flare and the last to leave when inducing remission. In fact, it is the only symptom I have during the past 5 years when I was in remission. I would only feel it when I didn't get enough sleep the night before.
Its hard to describe... Its definitely not a cramp. Its closer to a burning in the central abdomen. It feels like someone is opening up a carbonated beverage in the middle of my stomach. At some point, it makes a fizzling sound which is strangely audible outside of my body, and INSIDE. Like I can hear it inside my head. Like the noise is coming up my throat.
So this make me think it is my stomach right? Gastritis? Luckily I have found one easy solution: As soon as I eat, the pain immediately vanishes, usually for about 3 hours.
I have tried treating it with nexium in the AM and PM. No help at all whatsoever. The only remedy it would seem is eating. But this is a bit frustrating as the pain is severe and while I am glad that I can diffuse it in someway, i have to eat every 3 hours and I'm gaining lots of weight :)
Any suggestions?
