I dont know if this is any use to you guys... but I feel like telling my story... meeting some frienda..... and... yeah... haha....
Hello guys my name is Blake I am a 23 year old Crohn's havin' dude. I've had it since I was 10 and it definitely has changed my life... for the better in a lot of ways... but for the worse as well... ive never really talked about
my Crohn's with people who have it....... and I never have met anyone with it... but everyone in my life knows about
it and I am the most
open person in the entire world when it comes to anything...
My doctor has always tried to get me to goto meetings or whatnot but I never did... I dont know why... just never felt the urge to...
Ill tell you a little about
my life and what I do--
Like I said I was diagnosed when I was 10ish... dont really remember much of my life until maybe my senior life of highschool because I was constantly sick ... I had a throw up chair... that i would take out of class whenever I needed to puke... I was the sick kid of my highschool in the country of north carolina... I had lots of friends not many close ones though... I also had my fare share of kids making fun of me because I was so skinny usually jock jerks that now have knocked up their 'highschool sweethearts' and now paying child support to several babies mamas
ANYWAYS haha.. im joking... sort of,.. my last year of high-school I stopped taking Prednisone and started taking Remicade -- my life totally changed... I was for the first time feeling 80% I started going out... I started meeting girls... going on dates.... going to parties... making friends everywhere... developing my personality... going to shows... etc etc etc... before this all I did was play videogames and watch anime hoping that one day one of the girls would pop out of the TV and become real and be my girlfriend... HA
true story. I went kind of wild for a few years... really wild... i guess because I never went and did anything for the first 17 years of my life. I started college and joined a band called Tokyo Machine... and found something that really made me happy... College never really took off because of random flares and my other priorities... like playing in a band.... etc etc etc
The band broke up and I started doing well in school for a while taking courses in Japanese and International Buisness... had some ups and downs with Crohns... stayed on remicade... only went to the doctor whenever I absolutely had to... I started my job with Apple computers... which I still have...
And then I remet my life passion... MUSIC... I started playing in a band called Mustang and played 60's rock n roll... all original songs.. this was last year... and toured a bit in the south.. we became pretty big underground sort of band... but then grew tired of the music we played... and started a new band which I currently play in Stone Figs... weve played everywhere on the eastcoast... played parties for a thousand people in new york DC Atlanta and miami and this halloween were playing in front of 3000 for charity for sick kids... everything is looking up... except my remicade is wearing off
im starting humira this week.. i hope it works... ive never taken any vitamins I havent really took care of myself at all in the last 5 or 6 years... I smoke, I drink, I stay up until 3am reguarly either because of school work or becuse im in some random city ... but I want to figure out something... some sort of diet... some control in my alcohol consumption my cigarette smoking... well see.....
I have to run now.. Im in a rush to make it to the pharmacy... but Ill post more later... its nice meeting you guys and I look forward to talkin with you guys int he future.....
im typing so fast there are probably countless spelling and grammar errors
sORRY folks!
