Laparoscopy

Laparoscopy is a surgery, not a test. They generally cut 3 small holes, fill your abdomen with gas and look around with thin lighted scopes and see if there is anything that needs to come out. I have had this done before but it was for female problems not my Crohns. The 2 surgeries I've had for my Crohns were the full cut down the abdomine. Some folks were able to get away with having their surgeries done with the laproscope. I wasn't so lucky. I am not sure why your doctor is wanting to do this. They usually don't like doing any surgeries unless absolutely necessary, i.e. obstruction or abscess. Good luck and let us know how you are doing.
