awaiting CT results about my fistula

Well I had a CT scan done around 5pm, just personally paged my colorectal surgeon and he doesnt have results yet.  He opted for the CT over the SBFT since I am having severe pain.  I am due for my 2nd dose of humira tomorrow and informed him of that just now so I need to know if there is an abscess so I will know not to inject it.

Waiting is sometimes the hardest

If I had an abcess, I would inject. My goal is the close them

it showed that theree is subcutaneous air and a fistula which is CD related and not surgery related which can happen in abdominal surgeries for those who dint have CD. My doc feels the humira will heal it up and I dont understand the air thing tho.

Wouldn't the air be entering the abdomenal cavity through your fistulous tract? Dragonfly, you have been facing some pretty brutal complications over the last six months. How are you holding up? I know you are trying hard to hold it -- including work -- all together. I'm so sorry that new challenges are continuing to hit you.

I don't have any personal experience with humira but everything I read suggests it is the gold standard for treating a crohn's fistula -- better than surgery or anything else.

Hope you can give yourself the space and time that your body needs to heal. You deserve it.

I also am on Humira. I have been on Humira since April and before that Remicade. I have a rectovaginal fistula. Humira is supposed to help close fistulas but with any medications resistance develops. Remicade stopped working for me and since Humira is also a TNF I believe my body is not responding to it. I am sorry for your troubles. They didn't find any of my past or present fistulas during my CT's. A barium enema found one of them and a methylene blue test the other. I hope everything works out.
